VIII CPP
VIII Spanish Parallel Programming Contest

Alan Bennett

Standards are always out of date. That is what makes them standards.

Important information

The final test of the edition of 2018 is CANCELLED due to low participation in the qualification test. The final classification is that of the Qualification Test (results and problems are under the tag results).

Parallel systems have become a standard, and the Spanish Parallel Programming Contest is organized with the aim of promoting this programming paradigm among University students.

Non Spanish individuals or teams, without limite of age, not necessarily from university, can participate in Exhibition Mode (without option to prizes).
General rules:

  • Systems of the CESGA are used for the tests.
  • A test is open in the system of CESGA where the contest will run, with OpenMP, MPI, CUDA and XeonPhi (OpenMP in offload mode) problems of edition 2011, and a test warmup+registration is open for registration until the 14th September. A small system (a quad core) is available to practise with OpenMP and MPI problems of all the editions. Accounts can be automatically obtained. If a new record is obtained, access will be given to the corresponding contest in the system of CESGA for its validation and inclusion in the table of records.

The contest consists of solving a number of problems in a given time. For each of the problems a sequential solution is provided, and the teams develop their own faster solutions using a set of given technologies such as OpenMP, MPI, CUDA or XeonPhi.
